Catalog of the exhibition organized from March 10 to 25 by André Breton, who wrote the preface and the texts. There were presented pre-Columbian objects, old paintings, popular objects, photographs by Manuel Alvarez Bravo and 18 paintings by Frida Kahlo de Rivera, for which this is the first exhibition in Europe. Each of the five sections is illustrated with a laminated reproduction, with Alvarez Bravo’s photo adorning the cover. Finally, list of exhibited works. Limited edition on Marais vellum. It was on his return from Mexico that Breton organized this exhibition. Originally devoted to the paintings of Frida Kahlo, the writer extends it to all forms of Mexican art, ancient, popular and modern. [site Atelier André Breton, 2005]
